Olympic star performs at home of Grand National in Show Jumping event
With the 2008 Olympics about to start, Olympic and International Show Jumping Champion Geoff Billington will be hosting an evening of Show Jumping at Aintree International Equestrian Centre (AIEC), based in the grounds of Aintree Racecourse, on Wednesday 3rd September 2008 from 7pm.
Geoff was a key member of the British Show Jumping team during the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He also boasts both European and World Championship bronze medals plus numerous Grand Prix wins, including the British Grand Prix, Zurich and Berlin, and will be leading an evening of Show Jumping at AIEC to demonstrate what it is to be a true sporting champion.
In what promises to be a fantastic family evening out, Geoff will be bringing along some of his horses to show the different levels of training through a horse’s show jumping career. In a rare opportunity to see Olympic talent performing at the natural home of sporting champions, advanced tickets start from just £20 for adults, £10 for children, available until Friday 29th August, with tickets just £24 for adults and £14 for children thereafter and on the door, subject to availability.
Denise Maitland, Equestrian Centre Manager, commented, ‘Geoff is a great supporter of ours and we are delighted that he will be joining us to demonstrate his skills and share the secrets of his success, and inspire youngsters that they too can dream of Olympic glory.’
Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm, and finishing at 10.30pm. There will be a bar, soft drinks and catering available throughout the evening. Tickets can be purchased by calling Aintree’s Booking Line on 0844 579 3018.
